In collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University, Universal Consultancy is thrilled to offer the BA (Hons) Education & Childhood with Foundation Year.

The foundation year included in this program provides a gateway for individuals who may not possess the standard qualifications or background, ensuring they can still embark on a BA (Hons) Education & Childhood with Foundation Year journey.

This program delves into the crucial period spanning from pre-birth to about eight years old, investigating the various elements and experiences that shape their initial stages of growth and development. By traversing through diverse fields such as psychology, education, health, sociology, law, and science, this course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of education and childhood, preparing graduates to advocate for children across a multitude of professional disciplines.

The curriculum also encapsulates an exploration of cultural distinctions in childhood development, offering learners the chance to understand the diverse perspectives. Moreover, practice-based scenarios are integrated within the course, providing a real-world glimpse into how professionals contribute to the development trajectory of children.

Our data reveals a promising prospect for graduates as 92% of the Education and Childhood with Foundation Year students found employment or pursued further studies within 15 months after completing their course (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2023).

  • Universal Consultancy, in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University, offers a balanced teaching methodology for the “BA (Hons) Education and Childhood with Foundation Year” course, combining on-campus direct interactions with digital engagement activities. This blended learning modality is crafted to meet both the needs of our students and the specifics of your programmed.

    A combination of lectures, seminars, and hands-on workshops will be used to teach you. Each year, you’ll be taught over two semesters, with three modules per semester. Depending on your module selections, you’ll typically have around 12 contact hours per week, in addition to independent learning. The Communication and Academic Skills for HE program supports study on all of these subjects. In this approach, the foundational abilities discovered and honed in semester 1 are merged and strengthened in semester 2, with the necessary individualized guidance and mentoring offered all along. You should emerge from this process as a more independent, self-assured student prepared to start Level 4 degree-level coursework.

    On top of that, in the final semester instruction includes individual supervision designed to help you with your “Individual Project.” An extensive and in-depth research study on a topic of your choice within the subject of Childhood and Education Studies will serve as the foundation of your final-year project.

    Consistently included will be practical work that enables you to express yourself intellectually within a variety of education and childhood disciplines, allowing you to build a diversity of abilities that are both unique to the education and applicable to all facets of teaching and learning. You can explore and deepen your grasp of the issues taught in lectures during seminars with smaller groups.

No Qualification Route 

 

You can apply for this course through the work experience route if you are age 21 and over, by passing an university internal interview and assessments, which means if you don’t have any GCSEs , A-Levels or any formal qualifications you can still apply for foundation year entry.


A-Level and other Qualifications  

 

72 to 104 UCAS Points for a 3 Year Degree

Any subjects are acceptable at Level 3 Diploma/Qualifications.

You might need to have five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.

Foundation Year Entry Requirements

English Language Requirements

All students applying with International or EU qualifications must meet the minimum English language requirements of ELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5.5 in all bands for study at the undergraduate level.
